Well done to the women from CLTC who walked or ran the Mini Marathon on 2nd June to raise money for Tessa Garry. We raised €3,580 in sponsorship for the Little Miss Tessa Trust. Following up on Chloe Collins win at the Leinster open at Lansdowne, she won the Davy Munster U12 open at Sunday’s well last week, beating Mia Gavin (Ennis) 6-3, 6-4 . This was Chloe’s Fifth open singles win this year. Also congratulations for the fantastic achievement of Olwyn Berry and Sorcha O'Keeffe who won the Castlebar doubles U14 open recently. It’s fantastic to see the girls improvement this year. Also congrats to Cameron Singh who was runner up in Naas U18 boys singles last week.
James McGloughlin, current Irish number 2, and Chloe Collins current Irish number 4 Under 12, both won the category 1 Leinster junior open u12 titles last week held at Lansdowne Tennis club. James won the title in extremely impressive fashion winning the tournament without loosing a set and also only dropping 9 games in 5 match’s. James won the final 6-0, 6-2 against Leopardstowns Michael O' Leary. Chloe's Match was a cliffhanger, beating current Irish number 1 Amy McCarthy 7-6, 6-7, 10-8. Chloe then teamed up with Amy to win the doubles title 6-2, 6-3 vs Riverview Lauryn Barry and Grace Beatty. Well done also to Denis Popa who was the runner up in under 18 boys singles Well done to all. The hard work is paying off.
