Junior tournament Success continues

After a long time without competition, due to the covid-19 pandemic, our junior went back to compete in the Irish Junior Tour.

The first week of competition was full of matches for our juniors in every category, in Carrickmines, Galway, Castlebar and Naas.

Chloe Collins won the girls u-14 singles at the first junior open of summer at Carrickmines winning the girls u-14 singles beating Amy McCarthy from Limerick Lawn 6-2, 7-5. Chloe then teamed up with Rachel Deegan to also win the girls u-14 doubles against Amy and her cousin Sophie in a tight 3 setter played on grass 6-7, 6-3, 10-6.

Congratulation to Chloe now moves up to number 1 in Irish rankings.

Great start of the season for Aniket Roy winner of JT 250 in Carrickmines and runner up of JT 500 in Castlebar.

Congratulation to Marta Sellito winner of JT 100 in Carrickmines.

Well done to James Lammas winner of European U.14 championship playoff. James will represent Ireland in Most (Czech Republic) for the U.14 European Championship, one of the most important junior tournaments in Europe.

Honorable mentions also to Dominick Hradilek who was runner up in boys u-12 doubles and made the semi-finals of the singles … Also a fantastic effort by his brother Oliver who hard work is paying off pushing the number 1 seed and eventual winner in the u-14 boys singles to a final set 11-9 tiebreak defeat.

Maria Flannery made the girls u-12 singles semi-finals.

Well Done to all and Best of luck to all the juniors this week in Lansdowne and Galway events!
