If playing at the scheduled time, one player from each match must confirm that a court is required.
Any unconfirmed courts will be released at noon on the day before the match.
If a player is unavailable at the scheduled time they can:
Reschedule to a mutually agreeable time with their opponents or
Use a sub of an equivalent or lower standard. All subs must be agreed with Paraic (men) or Clare (ladies).
If a match is not played by the end of the competition no points will be awarded unless a pairing was available on the scheduled date and made reasonable efforts to accommodate a rescheduled game. In this case, all of the points will be awarded to the available pairing. The organising committee will decide in other cases.
21 games will be played in each match. Games are played out i.e not first point after deuce. The 21st game is a normal tie-breaker.
After 10 games a pairing may decide to swap between deuce and advantage sides.
Scoring system: 4 points for 14 or more games, 3 points for 11-13 games, 2 points for 10 games and 1 point for 7-9 games.
If you retire during a match, for whatever reason, all of the remaining games will be awarded to the opposition.
In the event that a pairing does not turn out on the scheduled night, the unplayed match will be forfeited and the points will be awarded to their opponents.
