\"\"Coaching for Juniors<\/a><\/h3>\n

With approx. \u00a0600 junior members in Castleknock lawn tennis club we have something for junior of all ages.
\nOur goal is to create a fun, welcoming, and safe environment where juniors at all levels can enjoy tennis, make friends and support teammates.
\nAs well as coaching we hope to have a number of social tennis events to encourage juniors to have fun playing tennis and develop their skills and understanding of the game. We have a junior co-ordinator who is wiling to run social events but cannot do so without volunteers to help. If you would like to be added to our volunteer panel, please contact the junior coordinator on juniors@cltc.ie<\/a><\/p>\n

Red Ball – Age 8 yrs & under<\/strong>
\nRed Ball is ideal for younger players as the ball is softer and the courts are shortened to get used to
\nthe game of tennis.
\nOrange \u00a0Ball \u2013 Age 8 & 9 yrs<\/strong>
\nOrange balls are not as soft as red ball but still give players better control of the ball before moving
\nonto green ball.
\nGreen Ball \u2013 Age 10 yrs +<\/strong>
\nGreen ball is used on a full court and a little softer than yellow balls. It is ideal for players moving
\nfrom orange ball to full compression yellow ball.<\/p>\n

If you have any question on your child\u2019s progression through the stages of our junior program, our coaches are happy for you to speak to them directly.<\/p>\n

The junior coaching program is exclusively for junior members of the club.<\/strong> For more information about junior membership, please contact\u00a0office@cltc.ie<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Social Tennis<\/h3>\n

Box League<\/strong>
\nBox League is a fun, social tennis event, encouraging children to play with others at a similar level and gain a
\nbetter understanding of score and game format. There are 4\/6 players in each box and each match consists of 13 games. Games are played over an 8-week period with courts and games organised by the parents. Players in the box and scores are posted on the noticeboard in the junior room. There is a pizza and prize giving night at the end of the box to celebrate all the junior\u2019s participation.<\/p>\n

Competitive Tennis<\/h3>\n

Stars & Stripes<\/strong>
\nIs a junior tennis league involving other tennis clubs and is open to junior players who are ranked
\noutside the top 70 Leinster Tennis ranking. It allows junior players to play inter-club tennis in a
\nfriendly but competitive spirit.
\nThere are two age categories: U12 & U14, and on each team there are 6 boys and 6 girls.
\nThe U12 Stars and Stripes runs for 5 weeks over February and March.
\nThe U14 league runs over March and April.<\/p>\n

Tournament Tennis<\/strong>
\nMany Castleknock Juniors have advanced to competing in junior league tennis & external tournaments. In some DLTC leagues, juniors over the age of 14 can represent the club for league. Please speak to our coaches if your child is interested in participating in external tournaments and they can guide you through the process.<\/p>\n
