Another week full of success and excellent results for our juniors has just ended. A large number of juniors took part in the national level tournament in Rushbrook, which awards 1250 points for the Irish junior ranking.  A great victory, the second of the season, for Oliver Hradilek, winner of the U.14 tournament. The same tournament happened in the double girls for Chloe Collins with her partner Sophie Maccarthy. For Chloe, It is the fourth tournament win this season. Excellent week also for Olwyn Berry, runner-up of the 500 tournament in Nenagh. Olwyn is now number 16 on the national rankings. Another positive note comes from Sligo, where Aniket Roy won the U.12 250 tournaments. For Aniket it is the 3rd success out of 5 finals this year.  Good luck…

Dear Members, Following the recent government update relating to indoor dining, we are happy to state that from Monday 26th July we will be offering indoor food and beverage. We ask that you read and take note of the following draft guidelines set out by the government, that the club, management, and staff will be adhering to. There must be a defined, managed, and supervised entrance point with an appropriate queue management system. Entry into the restaurant and bar will be through the middle sliding door on the balcony, no other entry points should be used. Another week, another week full of triumphs for our juniors busy playing tournaments in Galway, Tramore and Dublin.  Oliver Hradilek won his first U.14 boys tournament in Tramone, tournament category 1000 beating the number 1 of the ranking Alex Halpin with the score 6-1 6-2, the number 4 of the ranking Zac Naughton with the score 6-2 6-1 and in the final David Cotter with the score 6-2 6-1.  Great weeks for Tallulah Belle Lynn-Brown runner up in Galway U.14 tournament category 500  defeat in the final with the score 4-6 6-0 10/3 by Sarah Byrne and semi-finalist in Tramore U.14 tournament category 1000.  Another victory for Aniket Roy in the fast 4 tournament U.12 category 250 in DCU Dublin.  For Aniket this is the second tournament win of the year.  Another final in…

After a long time without competition, due to the covid-19 pandemic, our junior went back to compete in the Irish Junior Tour. The first week of competition was full of matches for our juniors in every category, in Carrickmines, Galway, Castlebar and Naas. Chloe Collins won the girls u-14 singles at the first junior open of summer at Carrickmines winning the girls u-14 singles beating Amy McCarthy from Limerick Lawn 6-2, 7-5. Chloe then teamed up with Rachel Deegan to also win the girls u-14 doubles against Amy and her cousin Sophie in a tight 3 setter played on grass 6-7, 6-3, 10-6. Dear Members, Tennis Ireland has advised that they have completed the registration for the WTN event and have now scheduled all players in the round robin groups. Tennis Ireland have organised this event with Castleknock and over 100 Irish clubs participating with over 1,400 entries. To check your round robin group click Tournament Players and select your name. Rules & Regulations Play starts May 24th and runs until June 6th.Players will have the 2 weeks to play as many games as they wish in their group, no penalties for not playing though hopefully everyone will.Contact players in your round robin group to play the matches and follow standard club protocols.Standard club restrictions will apply:Players book a court as normal, and organise their own games.Players supply their own tennis balls.Games should…

Dear MembersFurther to the latest government announcement last night placing the country into new level 5 restrictions. Unfortunately, this means that no tennis is permitted until at least January 31st and the Club will close from 18.00 Thursday 30th December and remain closed in line with the current restrictions. The Club will, in all instances, be guided by this framework together with Government and Tennis Ireland advice that forms part of the framework.
