This award recognises the club’s strong and sustained commitment to inclusion and accessibility, and it is an achievement the entire CLTC community can be very proud of.
The award acknowledges the club’s commitment to Enjoy Tennis Initiatives and leadership role in launching Parastanding Tennis in Ireland. CLTC proudly hosted the first-ever Parastanding Tennis event in the country, followed by the first regional launch as part of Tennis Ireland’s national Parastanding Tennis initiative. These landmark events showcased our club’s ability to create meaningful opportunities for players of all abilities in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Beyond hosting events, CLTC actively supports the Irish Parastanding Tennis team, providing coaching assistance to players preparing for international tournaments. The club has also supported Parastanding athlete David Murphy through targeted fundraising and sponsorship initiatives, helping to fund his participation in international competitions while representing Ireland.
In partnership with Tennis Ireland and Fingal Sports, CLTC delivers a regular Parastanding Tennis coaching programme for people with disabilities who are not wheelchair users. This programme offers participants the opportunity to try tennis, develop their skills, and become part of club life. 2025 concluded with a dedicated Christmas party for players involved in the programme, celebrating both sport and community.
Accessibility is central to our inclusive approach. Recent upgrades include a fully accessible main clubhouse entrance and improved pathways, complementing our already accessible indoor courts and facilities. When hosting Parastanding events, the suitability of the club was evident, with access from parking areas to courts for participants with varied mobility needs.
In addition, CLTC has proudly run the Enjoy Tennis programme for many years, growing from supporting one adult disability organisation to three organisations on a regular basis.

Acknowledgement of CLTC member Isabella White

We would also like to sincerely thank Isabella White for representing Castleknock Lawn Tennis Club at the awards ceremony.
Isabella is a valued club member, a participant in our Parastanding Tennis programme, and plays tennis with her family, who are active members of CLTC.
She has been instrumental in highlighting where the club could further improve accessibility, feedback which directly informed the improvements to our clubhouse entrance and pathways.
Isabella is a wonderful advocate for young people, always willing to help when asked, and you will see her featured in our accessibility videos for the club. We are very grateful for her contribution and representation.
You rock Isabella!
