Stars and Stripes Finals Day 2024

Club Info
"Castleknock Lawn Tennis Club proudly hosted the Stars and Stripes tennis competition Finals day, welcoming teams from eight other Dublin tennis clubs. The event saw strong participation from Castleknock, with two boys' teams and one girls' team competing. The highlight of the day was the impressive performance of one boys' team, who clinched the cup in a nail-biting final against Rockfield. Special accolades go to Nicola Hammond and the dedicated Junior Committee, whose exceptional efforts ensured the event ran seamlessly. Their additional touch of decorating the members' bar added a festive atmosphere that was especially enjoyable for the young participants. Also, a big thanks to our head coach Daniele Mancia who made the effort to be there and present the prices for the kids. Looking ahead, Castleknock is gearing up…

Club Info
The ‘Stars and Stripes’ U-12’s girls team played some super tennis against Sutton LTC to come away with a victory but more importantly had fun on court. After their match, Simona had the table set for the girls and served up pizza and chips to celebrate them as part of the CLTC ‘Women in Sport’ week. It was a joy to sit and chat with them. We looked at the slideshow and they asked loads of questions about who they were reading about and seeing on the screen. They chatted about what sports they play and what their favourites are. I asked if they knew why they were having a pizza party and they answered ‘because of International Women's Day’ and ‘because we are the future’ They showed incredible self-awareness…
