Ladders and boxes run throughout the year and are a great way to get good games against players of your own standard. We use the ClubManager365 system to run our ladders and boxes. You can see the current standings, issue challenges and enter results from your laptop, tablet or smartphone. The system is very easy to use and once you have logged in you can easily switch between ladders and boxes and the other facilities such as court bookings, user dashboard (including member mobiles) that the system offers.
Men’s and Ladies Singles Ladder
It is an automated self-service event that runs all year round and caters for all levels. Members over 14 may join the ladder at any time and have a free challenge to get them started. Once active you can then challenge up to 8 places above you. All challenges comprise of two full tie-break sets and a championship tiebreak will be played, if required, as a deciding third set. The championship tiebreak is won by the player who is the first to ten points, to win by two (i.e., 10-6, 11-9, 12-10 etc.). So great competition in a brief time!
Box Leagues
Box Leagues are run over a defined period from 4-8 weeks. Players (singles or doubles pairings) are arranged in boxes of 4 or 5 players / pairings. Each player / pairing plays all of the others in the box. The number of games played varies for different box leagues. You arrange your own matches. Our court booking system has a very useful feature that allows you to email the other players in your box when you book a court. They can then choose to be your opponent if the day / time suits them.
Contact the Box organiser if you would like to join a box league – all standards are catered for.
For Mens box league inquiries, contact the men’s captain.
Currently there are no box leagues running in Ladies tennis.
Mens Singles Box Leagues
During the month we launched our 14th Round of Mens Box League with our highest number of members taking part with a total of 132 players in 14 boxes.
The winners of Round 12 which finished earlier in the month are available here, we had 117 players in 13 boxes. David Doorigan deserves a special mention as the undisputed winner of box league, he has won the top box for the last 5 rounds and I don’t think he has lost 1 match (well maybe 1…). So I’d welcome any new higher level players willing to take him on!
