For many years the Castleknock Open Championships (formerly the West Dublin Open) has been a vital part of the Tennis Ireland tennis landscape. The 2019 tournament was played from July 13th to 20th at Castleknock LTC, and had the largest entry for many years. This event caters for a wide range of playing abilities from Class 2 to Non-League in singles, doubles and mixed – attracting a wide range of competitors from across Dublin, Leinster and further afield.
The venue is a worthy fit for an event of this stature. The club’s long tradition of first-rate tennis goes back to its beginnings in 1927. ATP Tour player James McGee is a member and, when tour commitments permit, helps out with development programme and plays.
